GLADIATOR – A barnstorming film that won many many awards. The story is about a dying emperor who chooses Maximus as his heir over his own son. A power struggle ensues that will leave you so breathless that you will have to go to the fridge for a can of beer!! Starring the excellent Russell Crowe the special effects are just superb.

MERCURY RISING – An action thriller starring Bruce Willis. A nine year old autistic boy cracks the FBI’s unbreakable “Mercury” code so a mad scramble takes place to get to the boy. Our hero (old Brucey boy) helps the boy to evade the authorities and with a few twists and turns this movie really is all action.

STARSHIP TROOPERS – Amazing special effects, 30 foot killer bugs and a slushy scene make this movie un-miss able. A race of intelligent killer bugs threaten to wipe out mankind as we know it Jim!! So the intrepid few set off to the bugs home planet. Make sure you have enough sweeties for this one.

GHOST – Yes that old classic starring Demi Moore and Patrick Swayze. Whoopi Goldberg steals the show as the charlatan Psychic.

If anyone ever wondered about what happens when one passes over then watch this film as it is pretty close. This movie was famed for being a love story however if you read between the lines then lots will be explained.

NOSTRADAMUS 2000 - An unusual choice this one. It is an up to date story of the readings and happenings of Nostradamus courtesy of a time machine. The effects are very good and the acting excellent. A very thought provoking and damn good film. Sadly I have never seen it on video but watched it on the Sci – Fi channel on Sky Digital.
