Camaley Movie review

The Sixth Sense – This is a wonderful movie, well written and superbly acted. Bruce Willis is the leading actor but the star of the show is the young boy. The story centres around a psychologist (Willis) who assists a young boy (played excellently by Haley Joel Osment) who SEES DEAD PEOPLE. At times some of the imagery can be quite daunting however it is all relevant to the story. There is an amazing twist at the end. Sadly due to the popular nature of this film the Hollywood machine went into action and produced many films based on the same lines and the vast majority are not worth a carrot. Due out soon at the cinema is another occult film by the same writer and once again starring Bruce Willis called UNBREAKABLE, if it is half as good as The Sixth Sense then it will be worth the popcorn money alone. *****

STIGMATA – A surprisingly excellent story accompanies this very thought provoking film. The excellent Jonathan Pryce once again plays the baddy. The story is a real trail of Mystical and magical events that culminates in an easy living young lady who just happens to be an Atheist having been possessed by a dead South American Priest. Once the Vatican hears of the writings that this lady is coming up with they send out an investigator. There is double cross and lots more besides with superb special effects. Miss it at your peril. *****

STARGATE – Although this is by no means a new film it is a cult classic for all those Ancient Egypt fans. The scenery and special effects are truly spectacular. The storyline is excellent as an ancient relic is found on the Giza Plateau that turns out to be a Stargate. From then on this is a story of the goodies against the baddies. Kurt Russell plays the lead. Stargate SG1 is now the very successful TV spin off that is aired on Sky One and Channel 4. Travel will never be the same again! *****
